ACS Committees
ACS Committees have a direct impact on the governance of the Society. They influence the direction of ACS's resources to improve the professional well-being of the entire chemical scientific community. Committee members are appointed; ACS membership is a pre-requisite.
Following are ACS committees that focus--solely or partially--on the topic of chemical safety.
- Committee on Chemical Safety (CCS)
Engage with the members who provide technical and educational leadership on safety issues. - Committee on Corporation Associates (CA)
Represents the formal link between ACS and chemical and allied industries.
- Committee on Education (SOCED)
Learn more about ACS educational activities, including those related to safety in the classroom. - Committee on Environmental Improvement
Monitors current and emerging environmental problems, research environmental chemistry issues, and more. - Committee on Professional Training (CPT)
For safety enthusiasts interested in post-secondary chemistry education and the professional training of chemists. Authored Guidelines for Bachelor’s Degree Programs - Safety Supplement [PDF].
